AN Indonesian man was charged at the Dungun magistrates’ court today with murdering a labourer last week.

Junianto, who goes by one name, nodded to indicate he understood the charge read out before magistrate Hazwanie Husain Bustari.

The 29-year-old accused, who was unrepresented, did not enter a plea.

The charge, under Section 302 of the Penal Code, carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.

Based on the charge sheet, Junianto is accused of murdering Mohd Zukanain Abdul Aziz, 39, near a hut on an oil palm plantation in Kg Beril near Paka about 2.45am on February 12.
