A SUSPECT in shootings in the German town of Hanau was found dead at his home today, reported the Sputnik news agency, quoting police.

Late yesterday, a gunman opened fire at two shisha bars in Hanau, some 20km from Frankfurt.

Police said the attacks left eight people dead and five critically injured.

Local media initially reported that one person was arrested in connection with the shootings.

“The suspected attacker was found dead at his home in Hanau,” said Hessen police on Twitter.

“Police special forces also found one more body there. An investigation is under way.

“At the moment, there are no signs that there could be more attackers.” – Bernama, February 20, 2020.
