Thai cops foil attempt to smuggle 1 tonne of drugs

THAI narcotics police have foiled an attempt to smuggle about one tonne of drugs hidden in a pickup truck loaded with cabbages and arrested five men at Nakhon Sawan province.

Narcotics Suppression Bureau head of interdiction division, Pol Maj Gen Bandit Thisapak said an operation on February 8 and 9 saw the seizure of 900kg of crystal meth and 100kg of ketamine worth about 365 million baht (RM48.5 million) from a pickup truck.
