THE Johor Health Department has denied that a pupil suspected of having contracted Covid-19 was arrested at a school near Kulai yesterday.

The child was brought to hospital for further checks, said director Dr Aman Rabu in a statement last night.

He said the action followed a government hospital lodging a police report after the boy was taken away by his family despite being told to remain in the ward for tests.

Following up on an individual suspected of having an infectious disease is a procedure heeded by police, he said, adding that in this case, cops called for an ambulance.
