TAMRIN Abdul Ghafar, who was summoned to the Bukit Aman police headquarters today over an article in which he criticised the Johor crown prince, has defended his action, saying “someone has to do it”

“Since nobody wants to do it, I will do it,” said the son of former deputy prime minister Abdul Ghafar Baba.

Tamrin was grilled for three hours by police. He accompanied by his lawyer Mohd Azharul Ab Taib.

He arrived at 11am and left the police headquarters around 1.30pm.

He had told The Malaysian Insight yesterday that he was to be quizzed by the police today over his blog post about Tunku Ismail Ibrahim, known popularly by the acronym TMJ.

In his article, which was uploaded to his personal blog, Tamrin called Tunku Ismail “stupid” and a “midget”.

Tamrin’s comments came after Tunku Ismail made several harsh criticisms of  Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and lashed out at the government for the coronavirus outbreak.

Tamrin today told reporters that as Malay rulers, they must behave decently in public.

Tamrin is being investigated under the Sedition Act 1948 as well as the Communications and Multimedia Act over his February 2 blog post, “TMJ – Bodoh Sombong Yang Tak Boleh Di Ajar”.

Tamrin said that the police had interviewed him over on 34 points contained in his article.

“The police (went through) them one by one, why I wrote them and what I meant by them,” the former Batu Berendam MP said. – February 10, 2020.

  • Look at TMJ's comments and see if he deserves those remarks. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones....
