JOHOR police arrested a mother and her son, and seized RM1.1 million worth of drugs in a raid on a house in Muar on Wednesday.

Johor police chief Mohd Kamarudin Md Din said officers arrested a 46-year-old local woman and her son, 26, at their home at 3.40pm.

Police also found 22kg of syabu, worth RM1.09 million in a room in the house.

“Ongoing investigations revealed that the two suspects have been active in drug trafficking for the past five years.

“We are still determining their market and whether they are involved with any syndicates,” he said at a press conference in Johor Baru today.

He said the man tested positive for methamphetamine, while his mother was negative.

“The man also has a previous drugs conviction, while the woman has a clean record,” he said.

The two suspects were remanded for seven days from Thursday.

Police also seized a Perodua Myvi car. – Bernama, February 9, 2020.
