THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is finalising a list, ranking ministries in terms of corruption and abuse of power, that will be released next month.
MACC deputy chief commissioner (prevention) Shamsun Baharin Mohd Jamil said the list would be submitted to MACC chief Dzulkifli Ahmad before its release.
“The list has been completed by a committee of experts, but has yet to be submitted to the chief commissioner,” he said in his speech at the Corruption-Free Pledge by the Federal Territories Ministry today.
It was reported that the list would name 10 of the most problematic ministries and five of the cleanest in terms of corruption and abuse of power.
Shamsun Baharin said the Federal Territories Ministry was the 18th ministry to sign the pledge and MACC hoped that all 25 ministries and the Selangor state government would sign the pledge by the end of this year.
“All state governments have signed the IBR pledge except Selangor,” he said. – Bernama, October 16, 2017.
