DR Mahathir Mohamad, the single-minded leader who changed Malaysia from an agrarian to an industrial economy in his 22 year’s as prime minister, promised last night to finish his last task – remove Najib Razak from power.

The 92 year-old stopped to catch his breath a few times when he delivered his speeach at the final “Love Malaysia, End Kleptocracy” rally in Petaling Jaya last night, where he pledged to the crowd to complete his mission.

The Pakatan Harapan chairman, who looked tired when he took the microphone about 10.30pm last night, was the last speaker of the event, which brought the curtain down on a nationwide roadshow that began three months ago in Penaga, Penang.

And the crowd, some of them who were there since 4pm, stayed back to listen to Dr Mahathir while clapping and cheering him on.

“Terima kasihlah…tak tau berapa lama lagi, nak habiskan kerja ni saja (Thank you..don’t know how long more [I have]. I want to finish this last job),” he said to chants of “Hidup Tun (Dr Mahathir)”.

Dr Mahathir spoke for about 30 minutes, telling the crowd their votes were important to topple Najib and the current BN-Umno government.

“Two days ago we were told that the rally was cancelled as there would be chaos. I do not see chaos. We are civilised, not like some thieves,” he said.

“He was very afraid of the rally tonight. He was hoping that it would not happen. We are not creating chaos. We just want to explain why the crook has to be kicked out,” he said, referring to Najib.

Dr Mahathir added that Najib was so afraid that even his cook was harassed.

“I am fine if he wants to raid my children, but my cook was also disturbed,” he said.

Dr Mahathir also dismissed the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s recent spate of arrests as a sham.

“MACC was very hardworking and went to Sabah to make arrests, but for the one who stole RM2.6 billion, no action was taken. So, do not lie to show how hardworking you are,” the PH chairman said.

He then reiterated PH’s plans for its first 100 days in office if they took over Putrajaya during the 14th general election.

* Arrest Malaysian Official 1 – the person referred by the US Department of Justice as the main beneficiary of the money diverted from 1Malaysia Development Bhd and was identified to be Najib by a minister.

* Set up a Royal Commission Inquiry to investigate the 1MDB and Felda scandals.

* Set up an independent body to return asset and monies stolen from the people through corruption.

* Turn MACC into an independent body that reports directly to Parliament.

* To cease direct negotiations for all government contracts.

He said PH was not seeking support from the people but instead wanted to support the people’s needs so that Malaysia could return to being a model for other countries.

“Trust us. We are not afraid and will continue this fight,” Dr Mahathir added. – October15, 2017.

  • PH need Anwar out on the campaign trail or someone else to step up. So long as they cannot turn this thing about Islam and Malays, chances are slim.

  • MahaThief is not telling us about his "real last job" i.e. wiping out a strong Opposition in Parliament for the next 40 years.
