A TELEMARKETING manager pleaded not guilty to intending to provoke a breach of the peace at the Magistrate’s Court in Kuala Lumpur today, over a Twitter post alleging Irish teenager Nora Quoirin was raped by Orang Asli.
Muhammad Zikri Ibrahim, 29, has been charged under Section 504 of the Penal Code, and faces up to two years in prison, a fine or both, if found guilty.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Julia Ibrahim offered bail at RM10,000 bail in one surety, while Muhammad Zikri’s lawyer Muhmmad Syazwan Mohd Salleh said this was too much.
Magistrate Noorasyikin Sahat set bail at RM6,000 in one surety.
The case is set for mention on September 19.
Nora’s body was found on August 13 – 10 days after she was first reported missing – about 2.5km from The Dusun resort, a day after she and her family checked in there for a holiday.
Police said a post-mortem revealed Nora had died of gastrointestinal bleeding, due to starvation and prolonged stress. – August 20, 2019.
