LTAT is late in announcing the 2018 dividends as the army pension fund is undergoing an audit, said Mohamad Sabu, in Langkawi, today.
“We are late because there are many unsettled accounts. We have to check these accounts as MinDef is now undergoing an audit by Ambrin Buang. It will take some time as the accounts need to be audited,” said the defence minister.
Sabu said LTAT dividends of the past were not in line with internal audit recommendations, but declined to elaborate on what he meant.
In December, Sabu said LTAT would announce the 2018 dividends in February.
LTAT declared a dividend and bonus payout of 12.5% in 2017, higher than the 11.3% that the fund has averaged since it was set up 45 years ago.
Six percent of the 2017 payout was dividend and 6.5% was 6.5% special bonus. – March 30, 2019.
