Police met China authorities over Jho Low, says IGP

THE Royal Malaysian Police has met the authorities in China in its efforts to detect businessman Low Taek Jho, said Inspector-General of Police Mohamad Fuzi Harun.

Without divulging details on the meeting, Fuzi said Low had not been found and effort to detect him was still underway.

“The police is also communicating with Interpol,’’ he said after a Royal Malaysian Customs Department-PDRM meeting in Kuala Lumpur today.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said the government would continue its efforts to find the businessman despite the difficulty.

Low, who was identified by investigators from Malaysia and the United States as the main character in the multi-billion 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) scandal, was believed to have escaped from detention in Hong Kong to an island near Macau. – Bernama, January 13, 2019.
