“KEEP cool, keep cool.”

This is the advice given by Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail when asked to comment on the public spat between PKR president Anwar Ibrahim and his deputy, Mohamed Azmin Ali, over central leadership council appointments.

Dr Wan Azizah, who is PKR advisory council chairman, called on members to give space to her husband, Anwar, to form a strong leadership line-up.

“Let the president lead the party… after all, we chose him.”

Asked about the possibility of Azmin contesting the party’s top post in the future, she said such a move is normal in any party.

Earlier, Dr Wan Azizah, who is also deputy prime minister, attended the Street Dakwah campaign in conjunction with New Year celebrations near KLCC.

She spent half an hour with some 50 volunteers from Persatuan Kebangsaan Pelajar Islam Malaysia who are spreading awareness among youth about the importance of staying away from social ills.

“We know that youth tend to be adventurous and want to experiment on everything, even things that could get them in trouble.

“This campaign is a preventive measure, to make them realise the risks and know the kind of help they can seek should they get in trouble. For example, they can contact the Kasih hotline at 15999.”
