ASHRAN Ghazi has announced his resignation as chief executive officer of Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC) effective December 12.

He will be joining regional consumer intelligence company Dattel as its CEO, reported the Star Online today.

He tendered his resignation last month.

While it is unclear who will replace Ashran as the CEO, MaGIC’s executive director of finance and corporate services, Amiruddin Abdul Shukor, will hold the post in the interim.

“I have been delaying the resignation for quite some time, and only tendered resignation when MaGIC was safe in the hands of another ministry,” Ashran was quoted as saying.

He was appointed MaGIC CEO in 2016.

MaGIC, which is based in Cyberjaya, was originally under the Finance Ministry, but it was moved to the Entrepreneur Development Ministry after Pakatan Harapan took over the government after GE14.

The agency has a staff of about 70 people. – November 23, 2018.
