40% of adult population receive Covid booster shots

A TOTAL of 9.36 million people or 40% of the adult population in the country have received the Covid-19 booster dose as of yesterday.

Based on the CovidNow portal, 145,922 booster shots were administered yesterday.

A total of 22.9 million individuals or 97.8% of the adult population were fully vaccinated, while 23.18 million individuals or 99% have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

For adolescents aged 12 to 17, a total of 2.77 million or 88.1% of the group had been fully vaccinated, while 2.86 million or 90.9% had at least been partially vaccinated.

A total of 147,655 vaccine doses were administered yesterday, bringing the cumulative number of shots administered under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme to 60.88 million. – Bernama, January 17, 2022.
