MALAYSIA yesterday reported 12 Covid-19 deaths, a slight drop from 19 the day before.

This brought the death toll to 31,793, of which 6,415 were dead on arrival.

The daily death figure is the sum total of the number of reported fatalities on the day plus cases just confirmed by the health authorities to be due to Covid-19.

The Health Ministry’s GitHub raw data repository showed Pahang topped the list of fatalities with three deaths; followed by Kedah and Malacca (2 each); Johor, Kelantan, Negri Sembilan , Selangor and Sarawak (1 each).

The active caseload stood at 41,199, including 182 in intensive care, 83 of them in need of respiratory assistance.

There were 2,584 reported recoveries. – January 17, 2022.
