POLICE have detained 31 people for various offences in 21 raids under Op Cantas Khas, aimed at eradicating secret society activities, in Johor.

State police, in a Facebook post, said the 31 individuals were picked up after 257 people were screened from midnight yesterday to 6am today.

“The operation by the state police’s Criminal Investigation Department targeted entertainment centres and premises that have become the meeting place for secret society members, and is aimed at crippling street crime and criminal syndicates.”

The post said police were determined to flush out groups that attempted to create unrest and fear among the public. – Bernama, December 22, 2017.
