Detainee in Sabah fund scandal hospitalised

A SABAH political party leader, detained to help investigation on the misappropriation of a RM180 million fund for rural projects in the state, was admitted to KPJ Damai Hospital in Kota Kinabalu last night.

Sources said the 46-year-old man, whose remand was extended by three days yesterday, was admitted to the hospital due to mild dehydration and high blood pressure.

The party leader was among seven people detained by Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission regarding the misappropriation of the rural project fund amounting to RM180 million which was part of the RM1.5 billion fund estimated to have been misappropriated between 2009 and 2015. – Bernama, October 11, 2017.
