ACTION will be taken against a Federal Islamic Development Department (Jakim) officer who criticised Johor ruler Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar for banning Muslim-only launderettes in his state recently, said Deputy Home Minister Nur Jazlan Mohamed.

The Jakim officer had, in a religious lecture over the weekend, said that it was wrong for the sultan to disallow the launderette and that the issue got blown up simply because the ruler spoke about it.

The officer, identified as Zamihan Mat Zin, was said to have crossed the line when he criticised the sultan in the religious lecture at the Masjid Tengku Ampuan Jemaah in Shah Alam, for speaking out against a Muslim-only laundrette.

“The Home Ministry will investigate and take action,” Nur Jazlan told theSun.

It was reported that Zamihan was previously a religious officer with the Home Ministry, but was transferred to Jakim last year.

Zamihan said it was not the ruler’s right to declare that the Muslim-only laundrette would not be allowed in the state.

At the lecture, Zamihan also claimed that the Chinese are “unhygienic” and alleged that they do not wash up after urinating and defecating.

“And what about menstrual blood on their underpants? Or if they had hugged a dog, or spilled alcohol or food containing pork? If you (Chinese) want to enter a laundry, then just go to a normal one,” he told the religious congregation.

A Jakim representative also told theSun that it was investigating the matter.

Last month, Sultan Ibrahim told a Muslim-only launderette to be open to all customers or close shop.

This was after the launderette in Muar, Johor, put up a sign saying the shop was for Muslims only.

The owner quickly took down the sign and apologised to the sultan, explaining that it was just a marketing gimmick for his customers.

Earlier today, the Malay Rulers endorsed Sultan Ibrahim and the Perlis Raja Muda’s decision to forbid Muslim-only launderettes in their respective states, lauding the two monarchs for upholding moderation and inclusiveness.

The rulers said the Johor Sultan and Perlis Raja Musa’s stance had demonstrated their commitment to “ensure Muslims behave with respect, moderation and inclusiveness” in a country that is home to people of diverse faiths and ethnic groups. – October 10, 2017.

  • I must say that these so called learned persons do not have any semblance of humility whatsoever. All I can say is that when the shit hits the fan, let him rot outside your gates when he begs to be let in. Ask him if the reason he is left outside is because "sudah ditakdirkan"

  • I don't know where he gets his "fears" that Chineses do not wash up (toilet roll companies will close down), menstrual in panties and every Chinese have dogs. If he has this type of Taliban thinking, he should go and stay in Afghanistan, chop trees(which have not been urinated by dogs) for wood, collect water in the mountains where no non-Muslims have traverse, do not breathe when in company of non-Muslims but he need to use a row boat to Kabul as all planes are non-halal as not 100% of the customers are Muslims. Muslim football players in the Premier League have to retire as they may get sweats of non Muslims. Thats the end of the road for Sadio Mane,Bakoyoko,Yaya Toure etc as they are Muslims.
An ideal world for him if he lives alone.

  • The laundromat owner in Muar, Johor, claimed that what he did was only a marketing gimmick. Does that mean that he would accept anybody regardless of religion to use his laundromat service? That would be dishonest to the Zmuslims customers then. Anyway, at a self-service laundromat, clothing of different people don't get mixed at all because when you start the washing machine, you put in only your own dirty laundry! When the final wash is done, the machine will have cleaned itself.
